Conceptual use cases · read-only guidance
Read-only by design
Web Chat does not modify files or execute repository commands. It uses approved project context to answer questions and can present references that help the user verify the response.
Chat may suggest plans, code snippets, tests or diffs. People review and decide how to use those suggestions.
- No repository changes
- Suggestions do not apply changes to the project.
- No command execution
- Web Chat cannot run repository commands.
- No claims of executed tests
- It can propose tests, but cannot claim those tests were run.
Project context, approved access, verifiable references.
An authorised question uses read-only project context and policy-approved model access to produce an answer with project references.
Project-isolated Web Chat
An authorised user asks BatonX Chat a question. Read-only project context and policy-approved model access produce an answer with project references.
